SMS opt-in form

This is the form through which a hawknote customer consents to receive text messages. It appears at hawknote.net/app → Settings, under the heading “Phones that can text into your feed”. It is reproduced here in full, publicly, so the consent language can be reviewed without an account.

The controls below are disabled. Completing the opt-in requires signing in, because the number being verified is attached to a specific customer account.

What happens after the customer submits

  1. The checkbox is not pre-ticked. hawknote refuses to send a passcode without it — the server rejects any request that does not carry affirmative consent, so the disclosure cannot be bypassed.
  2. On pressing Send code, a one-time passcode is sent: 472913 is your hawknote verification code. It expires in 10 minutes. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out. hawknote.net
  3. A second field appears for the customer to type that passcode back, with a Verify button. Entering it proves they hold the number and completes the opt-in.
  4. A single confirmation message follows: You're subscribed to hawknote: verification codes and reminders you schedule. Msg frequency may vary. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel. hawknote.net
  5. From then on the only further messages are the reminders that customer schedules themselves.
