Privacy Policy

Last updated 27 August 2026

hawknote is a private note-taking service. You text notes to a phone number and they appear in a feed only you can see. This policy explains what is collected and what is done with it.

Mobile information and messaging consent are not shared

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

All of the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

No mobile number collected by hawknote is sold, rented, or disclosed to anyone for marketing. Mobile numbers are disclosed only to our SMS carrier, Twilio, and solely so that the messages you asked for can be delivered to you. They are not used for any other purpose.

What is collected

Nothing else. There are no analytics, no advertising pixels, and no third-party trackers on this site.

Message frequency and rates

Message frequency varies and depends entirely on your own activity. hawknote sends you a text in only two situations: a one-time code when you verify a phone number, and a reminder you personally scheduled. Most accounts receive fewer than 5 messages per month. hawknote never sends marketing messages. Message and data rates may apply.

Opting out

Reply STOP to any message to stop all texts. Reply HELP for help. You can also remove a number at any time in Settings, which stops messages to it and stops texts from it being accepted.

Where your notes live

Notes are stored on a private server operated by hawknote, not on a third-party platform. Notes are never sold, rented, or disclosed for marketing, and are not used to train any model.

The text of a note is processed by Anthropic's API solely to suggest topic tags and to detect reminder times on your behalf. This is a processing service acting on hawknote's instructions; it is not a disclosure for marketing or promotional purposes, and your mobile number and consent data are never included. You may switch this off on request, and hashtags continue to work.

Retention and deletion

Notes are kept until you delete them. Deleting a note removes it and any attached image. Ask for your account to be deleted and everything associated with it is removed, including your phone number.
