What hawknote is
hawknote is a private note-taking service. You text a note to your hawknote number and it appears in a searchable feed only you can see. Accounts are invite-only.
The messaging programme
By adding and verifying your mobile number in Settings, you agree to receive text messages from hawknote at that number. hawknote sends messages in only two situations:
- a one-time verification code when you add a number;
- a reminder you scheduled yourself, either by texting something like “remind me Friday at 9 to call the shop” or by setting it in the app.
hawknote sends no marketing, promotional, or third-party messages of any kind. Message frequency varies with your own activity and is typically fewer than 5 messages per month.
Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Opting out and getting help
Reply STOP to any message to cancel and receive no further texts. Reply HELP for assistance, or email the address below. You may also remove a number in Settings at any time, which stops messages to it and stops texts from it being accepted into your feed.
Your account
Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for activity under your account. Do not use hawknote to store unlawful content, or to send messages to a number you do not control. Only numbers you have verified can post into your feed — texts from an unrecognised number are discarded.
Availability
hawknote is provided as-is, with no warranty and no uptime guarantee. It depends on third-party SMS infrastructure and may be interrupted or discontinued. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Deleting your account
Ask and your account is deleted, along with your notes, images, and phone number.
